How about an autumn leave Clip Art Border? From a recent walk, I digitally altered this photo a bit and made it a patterned background.
I've created this blog to share my collection of clip art borders. I hope to inspire readers imaginations in ways to use clip art in printables and on the web.

Clip Art Borders - Wood Background
Often, I use tiling backgrounds as fill to create my Clip Art Borders and Dividers. I create them with many different patterns, but I do like to use wood or the wood look in many of my projects and thought readers would enjoy a tiling wood background or two.
Also, I wanted to remind everyone that our Super September Give-Aways are still going on! Our first winner has been selected and will be receiving his prize shortly. Read the blog entry to learn more!

Floral Clip Art Borders & Backgrounds
Now because of my hobbies, I've created thousands of floral clip art borders and backgrounds. I am not exaggerating! Between my garden photos and my Victorian ephemera collection, I've created too many florals to count.
The nice thing about a floral graphic is that it can add a subtle touch of elegance or casualness to the project you are working on. Also, floral backgrounds lend themselves to just about every color scheme possible. I'll be sharing a few over the next few days.

Creating with Tiled Clip Art Borders & Backgrounds
As you can see, I do like creating clip art borders and those I have supplied so far are actually background tiles that can be tiled horizontally to create stationery or printables. Many web design, stationery design, graphic design, and word programs allow you the opportunity on how you would like your background to tile (e.g. Left side, Right side, top, bottom, entire page.) but for many Microsoft Word may be the only program they have to create printables. Never Fear! You can create printables using tiling backgrounds, too!
How to create a web page or printable with tiled backround in Microsoft Word:

How to create a web page or printable with tiled backround in Microsoft Word:
- Choose the tiled background you would like to use and have it saved on your computer. You are welcome to use one I've shared in this blog.
- Open Microsoft Word and create new document.
- Under Format, Select background, and fill effects
- Under fill effects, select textures. Look! Microsoft supplies you with several tiled backgrounds! But go to the next step if you want to use the one you chose!
- Select other and this will lead you to browse and select the background file you have saved.
- Click OK after you've selected your file and voila! You have a page with that background.

Creating email Stationery with Clip Art Borders
Clip art borders allow me to enjoy sending email with my own, unique stationery.
How do I create email stationery?
Creating your own email stationery can be a simple process. Personally, I use an email client called Incredimail and they have a separate free program to create stationery. It may take a bit of a time investment to get used to making stationery for Incredimail.
Most people use outlook or outlook express for their email, and creating nice looking stationery is ever so easy in these programs.
Step by Step Stationery Creation in Microsoft Outlook Express:
- With a background image that you wish to use saved on your computer, open your Outlook Express program.
- Under File choose New Mail Message.
- In the New Mail Message Window that you just opened, select Apply Stationery >More Stationery from the Toolbar.
- Another window will pop up and in that new window will be a preview pane with a Create New button under it. Click that button!
- Wow! The Stationery Wizard opened! Click Next.
- Now click the browse button and find the image you've chosen.
- Next select where you want the position of the image and how you want it to tile. All the images in this blog, unless otherwise noted are tiling images. Most are created to be placed Top Left and tiled the entire page, but you can play with these settings as you create more stationery.
- You may choose a coordinating background color if you like.
- Click next and pick the font characteristics you want. Remember to choose a font color that will be readable on your background.
- Click next and select the margin settings needed so that you can see the letter content clearly.
- Click next and enter a name for your new stationery.
- Click Finish and you're done!
- In the New Message Window, Select Format >Apply Stationery
- Choose your new stationery from the drop down list or click on more stationery to find another.

Clip Art Borders
I'm addicted to creating and saving Clip Art Borders and backgrounds. I've collected Victorian and Edwardian paper items for years and I've also tried my hand at a bit of mouse drawing. The result? I have a large collection of royalty-free clip art to share.
Today's free clip art border is a side border background I created for email stationery. Feel free to use it as you wish.
